I am back home in Tororo after my third meal this trip of Chicken on a stick! Mindful that part of the team is on their way to Fang Fang to have a nice meal before the plane ride home begins, the rest are on their way to the Gorilla Trek. As we drove all over Uganda the past few days I found myself looking out the window of the bus or the boat or the car and being so grateful to be here. Hippos, Huts, palm trees, dust, rain, mud, the sound of village church singing in one language or another, witnessing joyful sacrifice and great love, great joy and a thirst for wisdom that I have never seen anywhere else. This country has such raw beauty, and Ugandans have an impressive ability to claim joy in all circumstances. Uganda has become a second home to me. Having people here with us from the USA laughing together with friends and family here in Uganda is a remarkable experience. I am grateful that God has sent me on this journey over these years. I have 3 more days here in Tororo, we are ready to meet with friends from The Reckoning International then Okiru Booker Tim and I will travel to Kakamega, Kenya, then fly from KIsumu to Nairobi, then travel to Nyeri and then a week from tonight I begin my trip home from Nairobi. Meanwhile, every second counts and I am grateful for every single one.
