I am beside myself with disbelief, anger,and sorrow tonight! My prayers go out to the SD trooper who was shot tonight by a coward who lured law enforcement to a residence with threats against police officers. I am angered that a loony in NY can post and tweet kill the police, then proceed to do so.. and that this dispicable act gives license to any whacko with a grudge to hunt down and ambush police officers! These are men and women with families! Men and women of whom 99 percent are out there risking their lives everyday to keep us safe, men and women who are now being targeted because of the 1 percent who are corrupt and a dishonor to the profession they represent. Having worked along side law enforcement, I know first hand the difficulty and danger these men and women face several times a day. They deserve our utmost respect. I wouldnt wish the split second life or death decisions they have to make on any of you. I want to thank all of my friends in the sfpd and mcso as well as all of the officers across the country. I encourage everyone to extend a hand of gratitude to the next police officer you see, as well as any first responder that you cross paths with including firefighters and ems workers. Tell them how much you appreciate them. Offer to pay for their meal. Thank them for what they do because much of the time it is a thankless job. And now it had become a scary, and deadly job as well.
