I am confused about this whole kerfuffle about the president not saluting a soldier, or doing it incorrectly. A) One of, if not the most important guiding principles of our nation involves civilian control of our military. The commander in chief of the US military is a civilian, and by code and tradition is not required - and not meant to salute members of the military as he or she is not a member of the military, nor do they wear a uniform, a requirement for the salute. B) go back and look at your history books, not even President Eisenhower saluted soldiers when he was president, as he was a civilian and not in a uniform. He was a former 5 star general for those not aware of our nations history. C) if you dont want to be accused of racism, quit picking on the black president for doing the exact same thing that the 43 white guys in office before him did... because it makes your bias very obvious.
