I am considering running for some kind of political office here in Texas (future). My platform would lean more conservative but with a common sense approach. By that, I am talking about the following: First: I would not be afraid to state that I am a follower of Christ and that He is my personal Savior. I would show His love through my actions, not by my rhetoric. I would welcome believers and non-believers alike into my administration (as Christ did); and I would encourage the believers to draw closer to Him and non-believers closer to whatever god they serve (Jesus told Judas to do what he must as he (Judas) was serving a silver god (money)). Some would chastise me for the aforementioned sentence but Jesus was also condemned by the Pharisees & Sadducees (and ALL the others who couldn’t see). Next: I would surround myself with the best qualified people for the job regardless of their political affiliation; race, color or creed; gender; or age. The main criteria is competency as I do not believe in lumping everyone into a specific category of fringed individuals because that is commonly referred to as a “stereotype”! Finally: I will always be capable of compromise: I am a Florida Gator fan living in Texas, thereby; I refer to myself as a “Texas Gator”! Come to think of it, that right there may keep me off the ballot altogether :(. As Bobby Bowden would say "dagnabit", (compromise defined: A Gator fan quoting a Seminoles Coach)--actions not words, my friends! I ENCOURAGE YOU ALL TO BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITIES!
