I am considering selling or trading my 10 year old apha gelding. He is registered but will not sell him with papers. His registered name is dipped in crisco. Crisco. His dad is dip n gold out of stevens farm in northview mo. He is a bomb proof been there done that everything horse. Hes a dream horse. And massive. Not sure on his exact height, i can measure him later, but hes at least 16 hands and brick house size. He does anything and everything. Roping, cutting, barrels, poles, flags, hurdles, i mean everything. He pulls a sled in the winter and a wagon in the summer. My husband got his little truck stuck in the mud and crisco pulled it out. He has never bucked or reared. My 7 and 4 year old daughters ride him. Hes just all around awesome. I ran barrels on him during the summer and he will run his heart out. He takes care of the rider. My daughters also ran barrels on him. He knows the weight difference and confidence of the rider. When i run on him he will go all out, when my girls are on him he will poke around unless he asked to pick it up. But, he is huge, so therefore he is not fast. But he will give his all. He doesnt spook over much anything. Sometimes my husbands gun shots will give him a jump but thats about it. He will ride out fine on his own but can be buddy sour at times. And he will test his new rider to see what he can get away with. Hes lazy lol i dont use spurs or whips so when he gets to being lazy and doesnt want to do anything ill get a stick and give him a pop on the butt and he gets back in attitude. Anyone that doesnt know anything about riding can ride him. Now his downfalls, he is slow. He will never be a professional barrel horse or nothing like that. and thats due to his size. He fits by himself only in a two horse trailor (yes hes that big) and he knows its a tight squeeze and uncomfortable and so he will sometimes not want to load in a two horse. But he will walk right in a big trailor. Also he has photosensitivity. If u dont know what it is, please google it. Last summer is when it showed up. But he has a special sheet that blocks the sun rays and with sun screen and a shelter, he will be fine. And he is extremely tender foot. Must always have shoes on. Thats my crisco boy. Im looking to trade him for either a third row seat suv that can pull a horse trailor, or for a horse or two that i think are worth the value of him. No gaited horses. My husband is dying for a buckskin. Im looking for something i could eventually run barrels professionally on. Not looking for papers. They dont mean much to me. And not looking for a crazy horse. I have one of those already. Anyways, anything else just ask. Im only considering rehoming him. I must like the person also.
