I am constantly asked, Why do I read so much? Told that I must be bored, have no life or just a nerd. Well on National Book Lovers Day, let me enlighten you. I READ.....because I have too. It is as much a part of me as breathing, eating or any necessity required to live. It is my lifeline to the world. It is who I am. A reader. I make no apologies for it and I am content and happy doing so. Happiness...arent we suppose to find what makes us happy in this world and embrace it? Well, I choose to embrace a book, I choose to embrace authors and I choose to embrace words. BORED.....not in the least bit. I am lost in words, engrossed in stories, entertained more than any television could possibly stimulate. Boredom is a state of mind and my mind is always absorbing. NO LIFE.....I beg to differ. My life has been full of world travels, interesting people, amazing situations, dynamic movies, unbridled passion, despicable anger, redemption, forgiveness, and love...all found within the confines of a book. NERD.....probably and thats ok. Everyone has a vice and mine just happens to be books. I could be and have been called so much worse. My vocabulary is extensive, my outlook is broader, my life is enriched! So, on National Book Lovers Day....I read. On Any Day.....I read....for I AM A READER!
