I am curious how our followers feel about the idea that artist works - hip hop mainly at this point- are being used in court as evidence in criminal cases. Is it right or fair to assume that an artists words constitute proof of a crime or proof of intent to commit a crime? And as it seems wholly an challenge against Hip hop culture, is this more simply another from of prejudice? What if novelists, or poets, playwrights or other lyricists were writing about a crime - say Sondheim and SWEENEY TODD, James Patterson and most of his works - does that constitute criminal intent?
