I am currently reading Arthur Newtons running and racing. It is a great book, kind of like a blog from 100 years ago. Anyhoo I really liked a quote that said I was forced to retire from the trans american footrace due to a car collision and some other trifles. I love that word, trifles. It suggests he is looking back and thinking he made a bad choice. Got me thinking.... Last year I dropped out of races because of trifles. At the time and of social media you instantly justify your decision and say it was ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT THING TO DO and all your friends agree yet further on down the line you kick yourself. Have you ever regretted dropping out of a race because of a trifle?
