I am deeply touched by the outpouring of support from family, friends/colleagues, doctor-friends and friends from the medical field here and abroad. Our horrible experience with the ER of CHONGHUA Hospital yesterday was indeed an ordeal. Up to this minute, I am still disturbed by the fact that it is supposedly (as they claim) the BEST in Cebu, what with all those international accreditations. A few years back, my hubby had to be operated for Bursitis but his attending doctor was only accredited in St. Vincent’s Hospital. We had full confidence in our doctor but admittedly, we expressed some apprehension about the “less-popular” hospital despite their assurances that it was refurbished. Boy were we surprised! We had a Suite fit for a king (double the size of Chonghua) and they had very polite personnel, clean rooms/facilities, quick admission plus we were accorded full privacy from a discreet registration process, screening of phone calls and visitors, etc. Now I can only sigh. What happened to Chonghua? Our friends there should shape up otherwise they will lose the trust and confidence of the public. They should be aware that other equally-renowned hospitals are building new hospitals with world class facilities as Cebu Doctors Hospital. Even St. Vincent’s, I learned is now getting on that same track. To my friends in CHONGHUA : Treat us like PATIENTS (definition : persons registered to receive medical treatment) and not mere CUSTOMERS (definition : persons that buy goods and services from a store or business).
