I am delighted to report that the Planning Committee approved the application to build not one but two MUGAs (Multi Use Game Area) on the St Margarets Recreational Ground. The artificial 8 a side & 5 a side football pitches will be open to the public at no charge. It is a project that i campaigned on since i got elected... I am awaiting details from the Leisure department as to when the work will commence, and the timescales involved thereafter we will have two purpose built game areas for the Hodge Hill ward. In addition i am working with Hodge Hill College in their application for a Sports England grant to refurbish the swimming pool, and build an artificial football pitch. Despite the savage cuts to to our city rest assured your elected members in the Hodge Hill ward Anita Ward Fiona Williams together with our MP Liam Byrne and residents are working together to ensure that we are can still deliver first class sporting facilities for residents. Have a blessed Friday...
