I am disappointed by the results of the Auditor Generals report into the former Premiers travel and use of government aircraft. No government official, nor the Premier, is above the law. In the event that there is evidence of criminal wrongdoing, I would expect those actions be met with the full force and weight of the law. I’m not in a position to explain or defend the actions in question since I was not a part of that government. I’ve spoken from the outset of my campaign about the need to end entitlements and restore accountability and transparency to government. In the first two speeches I gave during this campaign, I laid out clearly what must be done to repair the bond of trust between Albertans and their elected officials. Ethics and integrity will be the hallmarks of any government that I lead. What our province needs now is leadership, and a return to good government.
