I am doing my congregational Bible study on my new app called the Bible Reader and in Chapter 2 para 6 Jehovah has taken another step: He has revealed himself to us. In any friendship, closeness is based on truly knowing a person, valuing his qualities and ways. So if Jehovah were a hidden, unknowable God, we could never be close to him. Yet, far from concealing himself, he wants us to know him. (Isaiah 45:19) Furthermore, what he reveals about himself is available to all, even to those of us who may be considered lowly by the world’s standards.—Matthew 11:25. You can highlight your answers int he app --there are four colors to choose from and you can add comments -- for this paragraph, I add: This means that the least likely person will know Jehovah; and standards - whether worldy or otherwise -are not what Jehovah is seeing in each of us...he sees our intimacy with him --our willingness to open up and trust him. Therefore, whatever we expect from him, he makes us know that he understands our needs and applies this to our individual awareness. end of added comment **I can spend some serious time with my Bible study with this app -- great invention. I shared the blog for the person that has been working on it is Microsoft -- but I deleted it -- cause he was asking for donations -- but he DOES deserve the money that it cost to license this app -- it is a wonderful app -- I just do not collect for individuals -- if I had it to give --that is -- I would give to the most needy - not the most deserving My children lost focus on this intimacy with Jehovah -- cause standards are so common in the world The idea I just placed here on the most needy as compared tot he most deserving is a sermon I have preached continually to my children. Do we give to the one that has been the best [most deserving] ? ..or do we give to the one that needs the most? Understanding this --will draw you into an intimate relationship with Jehovah and Jesus-- when the young girl wanted to pour the expensive oil on Jesus, the disciples try to stop her and said that they could sell it and give the money to the poor. --Jesus said that the poor would always be with them, but what she was doing was honoring him Did that make it appear as though Jesus was taking what he deserved --? and by a standard of worth? NO -- the message in these verses were describing the love --intimacy -- that the young women had for Jesus and what she needed to do to express that was gave what others deemed as valuable -- the oil was indicative of her deep desire to be close to Jesus. [Matthew 26: 6 - 13] Intimacy can mean giving up things for others; providing services for others - as the woman provided a service to Jesus with the oil -- a preparation for his death & burial. Yet, she only knew she was loving him and drawing close to him even if she had usesd salt water -- the gesture would have been here care for his feet [drawing close to him] ......[her value on what she applied to him was then based upon a standard of service not money] -- this is what others did not understand ... As it is also today, we serve Jehovah out of what we have in the way of our love for him and his sons life that was sacrificed for us...by our actions with others. If that is outwardly addressed as hours clocked into a record book -- or the subtle pray of hope and faith accompanied by a gift of any kind that we provide for a loved one -- we are doing services to Jesus and his father...for even if we do something to the lowliest of all -- we have drawn close to Jehovah and Jesus in our intimacy as we recognize the love needed in the gift of doing for others as we would want them to so to us. If you do without love-- you work lawlessness.
