I am doing the best I can. Written by: William Wimbs Tell me, where in the bible does it say for you to do the best you can? Doesnt the scripture say, not of works lest any man should boast? Then again, it says, Not by works righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he has saved us. Tell me are you really out trying to do your best so that God will accept you, I have news for you, that is not how you are going to find acceptance from God, you are just wasting your time. If you are try to approach God with anything other than your faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, anything else will just be an offense to God. In this dispensation of the grace of God, it is Gods the pure grace that saves you and that same grace keeps you. The Bible says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God, Ephesians 2:8-9. It appears to me that the majority of people claiming to be saved believe they got that ways by something or some things they did themselves. Gods grace in this day and time doesnt allow for any kind of work or deed to be preformed to be saved, the only thing required is the measure of faith that God has dealt to every man. Jesus Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone that believes and what must be believed is, that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay our sin debt, was buried, and was raised on the third day , (cor.15:1-4). Most of us have been raised in Church tradition rather than true Bible doctrine. It is very hard these days to get people to listen because of these traditions. The majority of people in Church do not know the difference between doctrine and church tradition. They have listened to their preacher for so long and never checked to learn what the Bible says. The people who are doing this type of teaching are just as caught up in tradition as the ones being taught and dont know themselves what is Bible truth and what is church traditions. Most teach now that we dont have a pure word of God. Without, a never changing standard, the message keeps changing to fit the agenda of men who handle the word of God carelessly. People today believe only what they can see, smell, taste, feel or hear, they all are just sensationalist and materialist. In this dispensation of Grace, all our blessing and promises are spiritual. The big problem today is that people are not living or as the Bible says walking in the Spirit, they are still living in the flesh, and many of them dont even realize it. Your best will never be good enough to save you, only the blood of Jesus Christ is able to do that without any help from you. Titus 3:5 says, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…
