I am elated the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio was definitive in its decision that neither Secretary of State Husted, nor the Ohio Legislature can continue to be impediments to the right to vote, nor can they continue their assault on our democracy. The court made the right call to protect Ohio voters’ participation in our democracy. The last three days of early voting in Ohio are critical, particularly the Sunday before Election Day when churches use their vans and buses to get voters to the polls. It is time for the Republican-controlled legislature in Ohio to drop their efforts to suppress the voices of seniors, communities of color, students, and the elderly who are most likely to vote during that period.
