I am embarrassed to be an African. I am sorry but Im being honest....with all the crap going on and trillions of Naira missing that could have been used to feed and clothe the poor and create jobs...instead the politicians and religious leaders go on overseas trips, fly private jets and live the high life...is that anything to be proud about! What is there to be positive about as a Nigeria today?? Nothing, The Americans, Europeans ,Australians etc are all proud of their country not us, we are and will always be divided by tribe and religion! Our government is chasing all the hard working, productive members of society back to the west! They steal from the people, murders, rapes, kidnap, accidents on our roads, Affirmative action, renaming of streets and towns after them, inflation, banking, internet ripoffs, Irregular power supply, monkeys thinking they are civilised only after 53years? Why would i be proud of being something about which i had no choice? No-one had a choice about their skin-colour, nationality or tribe. None of these attributes are earned by the endeavours of the individual. So why should i be proud of these attributes that are not the result of my own endeavours or what i choose to be? I do not CHOSE to come from a terrible country like Nigeria and nobody CHOSE their family and Ethnicity. Am proud of who I am and not where I come from However, we do CHOSE our friends, livelihood, lifestyle and mental state. Obviously, you think your current state is submissive and regressive. . Thats unfortunate - youll walk around thinking OTHERS are more superior to you. And thats slave mentality. Emanicipate yourself from Mental slavery. Adedamola Emily-CleoSlickTheHumanist Dec 17, 2013
