I am excited to begin my new year with two big residencies as I transition back to my normal self after so long, and use these invitations as preparation for returning to work in the fall of 2015. I am the fortunate poet who gets invited again and again to the same institutions, and especially, in the lovely city of Pittsburgh. Jan. 11-13, 2015, I will be a Poet in Residence in Pittsburgh, Carlow University’s MFA Nontraditional program, where I will conduct a Master Workshop in Poetry, read my poetry, and sign books. I love the fine writers Carlow continues to produce, some of which have become my friends over the years. Over the years, I have even served as an External Reviewer on the Graduate Committee for the Manuscripts of two graduates at Carlow, and how rewarding those opportunities were. This will be my 4th time, resident at Carlow. Thanks to the director, Ellie Wymard, who continues to support what I do. In March, during Women’s History Month, I will be the Distinguished Woman of Courage at a fine private grade school, where I was the featured guest poet for their Women’s History Month celebrations a few years ago. I will read my poetry, conduct poetry workshops for these special bright students, and do a talk. This takes place March 10-11. Will keep you posted so you can be my guests. And then in April, I will be interviewed on Penn State University’s WPSU (Public TV) on their very popular program, “Conversations from Penn State,” which is seen around the country on the various Big Ten (Big 12) University Public TV channels. I will discuss newer work, my finished memoir, and everything under the sun with the very well-known producer, Patty Satalia, who I think is one of the most brilliant producers and interviewers. I am glad to be coming back, guys; it’s been boring over these months with my former position as Cancer Patient in Resident at my home and in the hospital, hahaha. God has been so good to me.
