I am excited to build my own Joule Thief Circuit inspired by Jun Albuera. JT circuit is a very very simple low voltage to high voltage circuit to power up your 12 volts or even 220v LED bulb just using even a 1.5 volts or less batteries. Using this circuit. Even a dead battery can power up you light. The explanation is here at wiki and I made my own coil out of a pair of UTP LAN cable to neatly wind on the torroid. I bought the torroid core at Roks at Sta Cruz for 20pesos. I will be using TIP31 transistor and play around with 500 to 1k resistors. I am attaching the transformer construcion.
