I am excited to finally officially announce, after almost three months of working with LG&E thru Randstad, a temp agency, that even though I still had to go thru all the agony of applying and interviewing like everyone else, that they officially offered me the job! What a relief. I will be working in the Compliance and Ethics Department at the corporate headquarters downtown. I can honestly say Ive never worked for a better company, the Director of the department I report to is the best boss I have ever had, and their benefits and compensation are absolutely unbelievable. The culture is great, and feels more like a small company than the behemoth one that they are. I have yet to see any of the snarky, gossipy, high school clique-ish political atmosphere that I have experienced at other corporate places, that werent even a tenth the size. They seem to honestly Care about their employees; it doesnt just seem like talk like most companies Ive worked for. This is the first and only company Ive ever worked for where I can honestly see myself staying there until I retire. I suggest to anyone looking for a great career, not just a JOB, to apply at LG&E. They are constantly posting new positions. ..check daily and dont give up. One lady that works there the same position as mine but in another department applied and interviewed three times over a period of a couple years before she finally got the job. So dont give up just because youve applied in the past and didnt make it...there could have been a ton of candidates during that time. Its worth it to give it a shot if you are in the job market.
