I am excited to let you all know that I will be starting a new job on Dec 1st of this year. For the past few weeks, I have been transitioning my role at BPK. We already have hired a great new executive chef and she will do a great job. Her background includes working at Republic (Bloomfield), Grants (West Hartford) and Bernards (Ridgefield). I will continue on as a partner at BPK and also working on marketing and some other behind the scenes roles. My new job is pretty much a dream job for me. I will be the executive chef for MACC Charities. MACC (Manchester Area Conference of Churches) is an agency focused on meeting the emergency needs of the under-resourced of our community with a focus on providing shelter, food, clothing and advocacy for those in need. My role will include overseeing the Community Kitchen as well as working with the Community Pantry. Our long term plan is to develop, in conjunction with current programs, a culinary jobs training program in order to help people get a step up instead of continually needing a hand out.
