I am experiencing so many emotions right now. There is sadness for the loss of my brothers in blue. There is anger at the animal that committed this heinous act and at the people and politicians that perpetuate this anti-police attitude. I have seen some very hurtful things that have been said by people who feel that killing two innocent Police Officers in cold blood is the same as a Police Officer killing someone to protect themselves.Most of all there is disappointment in a society that has become so bitter and jaded that people are divided to a point I have never seen and I fear has not been seen since the Civil War. I get it, people are angry and frustrated. What we need now are leaders that bring people together, not pander to the side that will give them the most votes. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Now more than ever we need unity. What makes me the most angry are these so called leaders that helped to create this anti-cop atmosphere now coming out and saying that they are appalled at these violent actions. The time to be vocal against violence was when the protesters were chanting What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now. Now everyone wants to put the Genie back in the bottle. That is not the way it works. These people that believe the Police are the problem yet offer no alternative are the problem. Without the Police there is anarchy. i could go on and on but I will spare you because, either you believe the hype or believe the truth, and the truth is that two families lives and holidays are ruined for no reason. God Bless Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos and their families and God help us all. Going home is the song usually played by Bagpipers at Officers funerals. I have attached a version of it below that contains the words. I wish my brothers a safe trip home.
