I am extremely happy to tell you that many psychiatrists and psychologists are taking my book seriously and reccomanding it to many of their patients. I think that the reason for this is that I have a lot of experience with Bipolar II disorder and Depression and that I help many people online, as a volunteer. I have been able to combine the lived experience with the theories so that I can tell professionals where they are going wrong and what we need to do for the future. What we need to do, as a matter of urgency, is spread the voice that people, no matter what their afflictions or disabilities, can achieve well -being, that it is not impossible to learn to control ones mood with a combination of interventions so that the person can live a reasonably normal life and contribute to their society as important and valued citizens. THE OBSTACLES TO RECOVERY ARE ENORMOUS, BUT THE GREATEST OBSTACLE IS SIMPLY THAT PEOPLE THINK ONE CANNOT RECOVER AND BY RECOVER WE MEAN LEARN TO COPE WITH THEIR MOODS AND SYMPTOMS WHICH IS VERY POSSIBLE: I DO IT AND SO DO MANY OTHER PEOPLE.
