I am extremely new to ME. We adopted a pure bred german shepherd just a few days ago, knowing that she has ME. I have been trying to learn as much as I can about it as fast as I can. The humane society vet told us that her case is not that severe. They said that it took them a couple of weeks to figure out why she was throwing up almost every day and finally found the ME and changed her diet to all wet food in an elevated bowl. They said we should feed her 4 cans of I/d every day to help her gain weight. I just feel like this is not enough, as she seems extremely hungry every time I go to feed her. How much do you feed your german shepherd? Im unsure about how much she weighs, but Im going to guess about 40-45lbs. Also, I have no idea if she needs to be on supplements or anything else thats especially for her ME. I do plan on taking her to my own vet soon, because as much as I loved the humane society and their vet, I feel like I wasnt given enough Information and I feel like Im in the dark. I am eventually going to get her a bailey chair because Ive been told that it will benefit her regardless of the severity of her ME at the present time. Do any of you know how I can get one for a good price? I wish I had the means to make her one, but woodwork is not my strong suit. :) thank you all in advance!
