I am feeling a bit down tonight. I am not sure what to say. This is a forum with many folks from many places. I have never been one who was reluctant to say things in any public forum. However, I am not sure what to say. I had hoped last year to be able to teach in the community college here in Kentucky. However, they require a background in education. It does not appear that subject matter knowledge counts. I had hoped to be able to possible do some consulting in my line of work from before I went out on disability. That has not materialized. Shirley and I have never been great financial wizards. Our investments have never panned out. we have lost money on rental properties. Our company investments were going to zero sowe cashed them in and put them toward this place. Shirley and I have put a lot of money into helping others and as we did here making a place for my indigent cousin to stay. We have given away more money than we really should have. Now that I am on just a pension and social security, things are really tight. Our medical expenses are much higher than we had hoped. I know it is that way with everyone. We have no margin. We have no money for any kind of extra expenses. We have had some extra medical expenses. I had hoped we could steel that metal trailer but nothing. Shirley and I are not good at selling anything. we usually wind up giving things away. We sold our hunting rifle. We are now looking to sell one hand gun we have. We really do not have anything else to sell. We have both said that if the beauty of this place could be marketed, we woud be fabulously wealthy. Alas we can not pay medical biulls with that or buy food with that. Shirleys Mom is in the hospital and we do not have the fuel for her to come home and go back over tomorrow to see the doctor. It is too late in the year to sell our place. We may have o look at that in the Spring. We really do not want to do that. We are not sure where we would go or where we would live. I do have skills and equipment to do excavation work. I just do not have a reliable way of getting to a site and back. I suppose I could go to the bank and get a loan of some kind to buy a used trailer and dump truck. Or I could estimate price of service based upon renting a trailer and dump truck. I did do something similar to that when I was in graduate school here in the late 1970s. We had nothing. The bank gave me money just based upon my good idea. So I sit here tonight not quite sure what to do. I do know that prayer does help and is important.
