I am feeling so grateful this morning. Arthur got up on his own - TopicsExpress

I am feeling so grateful this morning. Arthur got up on his own and went into his office this morning and started doing some work. He is so alert and his mobility is good. I thank God for Morris Thompson his physical therapist. Morris gets all the credit for it. He has taught me how to make sure Arthur has a routine and that he is doing his exercises in his absence. Me being the tattletale, told on Arthur yesterday. He does not listen to me when I try to get him to do them so now, Morris has informed him and followed through, that whenever I tell him Arthur did not do his exercises he will make him do double. Morris is a drill sergeant. He works the crap out of my baby. He tells me to keep in mind that Arthur is an athlete. Ran the 10K 9 years straight and placed each time landing him in the papers and interviews, so he can not only handle it, it is building his confidence and helping him regain some mobility. He actually just walked in the room to let me know he is going to take his shower, meaning he wants to do it on his own. For those of you who know anything about advance Parkinsons... this is huge. Arthur is a CPA so to see him go into his office for the first time and actually sit at his desk and work, is amazing. I am so grateful to God and our dream team. And Jamie was right, she told me music does something for people with Parkinsons and it is so true. He is recognizing songs and signing them. Loves Aleica Keys and Maxwells new tune and every time Pharells new song comes on, he is so ready to get busy and I dont mean dancing...smiling devilishly. Yep, I am feeling on top of the world today. Arthur is still in there and he is finally fighting back. Dont give up on your loved ones who are suffering from Parkinsons Disease. They are still in there, they just cant get their motor skills and vocals to always take commands from the brain. We slow danced to John Legends All of Me and we both cried. Arthur is in there and I am not leaving until every bond and chain attacking his body has been broken. Parkinsons may be cruel, but it doesnt have shit on love. We are beating this thing. I see a very significant difference since I first arrived on the 17th. He is coming down three times a day to join me in the formal dinning room for his meals. No more bed trays, with the exception of his snacks... he even takes the initiative to get in and out of bed on his own... just got to keep that carrot infront of him and he finds his way in....smiling devilishly! Special thanks to my Bronner family out here for supporting us. Gregory calls everyday and is on his way over again as I type to do some more work getting the house safe for Arthur along with other manly responsibilities Arthur would typically perform. Extra special shoutout to the one person I never dreamed would have our back....MY MOTHER, who is the mother of the Church so we know shacking up is out the question, but she calls to check on us and lets Arthur know she is praying for him. Love you the mostest mommy!
