I am feeling so very blessed to have such a memorable and wonderful party last night. I am in my suite packing up and getting ready to go to church at Mt. Hebron, but I had to quickly write how grateful I am. I could not have asked for a better celebration! Its always a good thing to be pleasantly surprised and the staff at Park Inn by Radisson and Rays Place was amazing and so accommodating. Shebra Bailey-Ibrahim, thanks for coming from Houston and working hand in hand with Yinka Oriola-Adetola and Nia Nia Dnaysha Luper to decorate. Girl, I think you should be a party and events coordinator! I love you and I hope you come to Dallas more often. Yinka, thank you for your makeup artistry and pedicure skills, I was able to kick up my heels with pride. I know you dont drive long distances, so thank you for considering me worthy enough for you to hit the road. To my spiritual mommy, Lady Maria Brown, thank you for your constant love, support and prayer. That cake was off the chain in looks and taste! Everyone remarked on how exquisite it was! Anica Duke, better known as Pookie and Sissy Pooh to me, your dance was anointed and on point. You pour your heart out and your soul when you dance and that shifted the whole atmosphere. AWESOME! What a beautiful tribute befitting to the special Resurrection weekend that it is. Jinnean Askew, you and Mama Bert never cease to amaze me. Thank you for always going the extra mile for me and spoiling me. I appreciate you for being my Sister Mama and thank you for treating me. Bernard, thank you for making Shebra, Yinka, Chandra and the girls laugh so hard. You are a jewel. Dyadrian, thank you for the special birthday song and the vision with the photography. Between you, Lynn Chip Bailey, Margeo Bailey, and Tim, thank you for treating me like family and operating with a spirit of excellence. You really went out of your way for me with the sound system, the photos, the video and making sure my audio and visual needs were met. Andra Arro, thank you for your presence, your energy, your song, and your willingness to help with the karaoke. I loved your singing. Thank you for your support with my daughters and surprising me at my school the other day with cake, flowers, and the beautiful card. Tyrone, Ms. Gomez and Debbie, I am so happy to see you all and for you to partake. Its amazing what knowing an Eagle Scout can do for your life! Kevin Kvam, my co-worker, you are the life of the party and quite the dancer I must say. Thank you for your unique personality and your ability to let your hair down. You are my brother from another mother. Dr. Badia, you are indeed a Rose. Thanks for the Dominoes from Puerto Rico and being so supportive. Tiffini Hall, you really surprised me and I was so grateful to see you. If we ever need to do a line dance tutorial, I know to call you and Chandra. Dr. Preston Malone Sr. and Diamond Doll, I know you were probably exhausted from your own party, but you still did everything you could to come to mine and make it a success. Thank you for your awesome song, Dr. P. Mr. Wendell Matthews, you are an awesome co-worker and I am glad that you came. We are going to figure out how to download your pictures from that camera if it is the last thing we do! Steve, you are very helpful and true a homie. I wish your event success on May 17. To my workout partner and ace boon coon who wont ever read this because you dont fool with Facebook, Kerri Dupree, you encourage me. Finally, to the many others who called, texted or tried to come to my birthday party but had other things going on and this busy but beautiful Easter weekend, know that I felt your presence and I am grateful for you and I love. I had a blast and my heart is overwhelmed! To the person who really took the time and read this super long thank you message, God bless you and keep you. May the Lord shine His face upon you and may He continue to keep you. Well, my official birthday is tomorrow, April 21. If I havent indicated that I am grateful for my 37 years on this earth, I can truly say that God is doing something wonderful in me and I am glad to be the Lords vessel. I thank the Lord for allowing me to have a good time and to keep moving forward. I am not moving back, I am moving ahead. I am here to declare to you my past is over.
