I am finalizing my class description for the science experiment days at the Studio. I am planning on having the science classes on Fridays from 1-3:30. It will be called " I Wonder". The children will take part in a group experiment every session and then break off into doing group or independent science projects. This independent project time is for the child to use to do experiments that they wonder about or go deeper into something they are already interested in. Parents would be required to provide safety goggles, over sized buttoned long sleeve shirt, and a science notebook. The goal of the first six week session is to introduce or show mastery for some of the Scientific Method. Lab rules will also be taught and then we can rock it out with some dangerously but safe fun the next session. Children will show the outcome of their project work through video, power point, science boards, etc. Would love to answer any questions if anyone has one. It always helps me to make the tweaks earlier when I have the interested parties helping in the planning phase. The class will be divided into two groups elementary and middle school.
