I am finally able to sit down and talk about our showcase last Sunday!!! It was by far the best showcase we have ever done. It was not an easy task at all as Brandin Jay had a vision in his mind that was hard to articulate to the team. With Brandin Jay traveling most of the summer it was up to Pierre Guiteau and De Andrea to execute the vision in rehearsals. 7 weeks of camp with kids in and out each week made it almost impossible to pull off. With Cyrah Hill and Deanna Owusu Yarbough in New York I was very concerned if we would be able to pull this off. Deanna has been at every show for the past 10 years and Cyrah the past 3 years. When I tell you up until the last 3 days before the show we were going to cut all the extra elements and just do the show as usual. As the Creative Director of AGI, Its Brandins responsibility to continue to push the envelope Creatively and we wanted to do a Broadway Review. On the final rehearsal for the show we were still thinking we will cut the extra elements, thanks to my amazing team we forged on. Pierre wrote the script for the show and even shot a trailer for the intro to the show. Pierre was so excited we decided we will go with it. Navia Robinson was shooting Being Mary Jane all week and missed rehearsal and was able to come in and learn the lines overnight. Ethan Paul also learned the lines in 1 day and we executed that show!!!!! It was the best show ever! A sold out audience we did a soundtrack as well and we totally outdid ourselves. In 7 weeks we accomplished so much. The kids grew in leaps and bounds, relationships were forged, parents came together and did cookouts for the kids, parents bought a grill for AGI and we became the true sense of Family. One thing about family, they dont always agree, but they stick together because thats what families do!!!!! My VIPs were floored, we were told this show could literally go on the road. It was the best showcase I have ever witnessed. Hats off to the team that made it all work. Hats off to Jessi Lambert who was the glue to hold the family together. If you missed it the first time, you dont want to miss it again….this was an AMAZING show, with AMAZING kids, with an AMAZING company and AMAZING parents….. Hats off to the entire cast, YOU ALL KILLED THE SHOW… EXTREME CAMP NORTH and SOUTH, you ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out the trailer for the show…..
