I am finally changing my Profile Picture to my Birthday Child for the Month of July. Samuel Rowland McLaughlin,Jr.s Birthday is the 26th. What can I say about my youngest off spring? I think its rather silly to think of him as my Baby but I think especially down south we call our youngest this. Yes, Dr.Price, I still call him Sam Rowland. When he was born we were still having surprise babies. We didnt have a name nailed down but knew if a boy he would have Jr. on his Birth Certificate. I wanted Rowland, Rowland wanted Samuel so on the way to the hospital before daylight on July 26, 1978, we agreed on using both names...Sam Rowland. Dr. Julian Price, their Pediatrician, said it wouldnt stick. Although most of his friends call him Sam, but family calls him the double name. He marches to a different beat but he marches. Sam Rowland is a very gifted Equestrian, I think of him as my Horse Whisperer. He is slow to speak but always has a smile and hug available. He looks, somewhat like his Dad but favors my Family most. Last year wasnt kind to him so we are hoping and praying this year will be kinder. One good thing that happened is he made a Profession of Faith and was Immersed Baptized. His young son, the III, had a Kidney Transplant, a gift from his Mother. Row is now flourishing and happy, living with his Mother in Shelbyville and visiting his Dad often. Sam is back in the Palmetto State but I think hes grown attached to the Up Country. I feel much older this month than I will come December. Happy Birthday,Sam Rowland and God Bless!
