I am following Judy Rejent Wolfe here and since Thanksgiving is one week away I wanted to post something I am thankful for. I had to take patients to Mass today and I sat and thought of things to post here. Of course the first thing to come to mind was how long Joe and I were married and how happy we were for the majority of that time. You do not stay married for 37 years without some bad times in there. However considering we met when I was 18 sitting at a party and reading my book, when this boy who was 20, jumped in my lap and asked me to dance to Smoke Gets in Your Eyes with him. That became our song as the young did in those days. Of course I got pregnant and we got married. Joes mom was so worried because we came from such different families. She said we would be divorced after 6 months and his Dad gave us 2 years. Well we had our 3 kids and 37 years together. We never worried about the differences because we knew we had the same core values. Our kids and families would come first and we tried to live up to that. We spent lots of years doing things for and with our kids and families. I would not trade these memories for anything. So I am thankful for all the years and good times I have had!
