I am fortunate that in living near the University of Georgia I get to hang out with alot of veterinary students. You have to realize how hard it is to even get into vet school, much less survive to graduate and pass your boards. I have always left the welcome mat out to any of them who would like to get away from the stress and go for a ride at the farm. Today, some students came out who I had never met before and they had various levels of riding experience. Saddled and mounted, off they went, and as always, I looked occasionally down the road to see if God forbid there might perhaps be a riderless horse returning at full gallop toward home! They all returned astride, so that is always good. After they put the horses up, one of him said, Thank you so much. I really enjoyed myself. That was the most fun I have had in a long, long time! That really made my day. James and I work really hard to afford to keep our horses, and we barely have time to ride! They are fat and out of shape and in desperate need of exercise, so it benefits everyone that the kids come out and get some fresh air. Thats what fruits of the spirit is all about: Sharing the gifts that God has availed to us with others, and having it benefit the common good. Thank you God for the bounty of our lives: horses and friends and beautiful days to enjoy. AMEN
