I am frustrated to no end with the introduction of Value Added Tax - TopicsExpress

I am frustrated to no end with the introduction of Value Added Tax by the PLP Government on the backs of Bahamian people in a struggling economy. The government themselves are not ready for VAT and yet it was introduced 4 days ago! Persons in the government as well as some Ministers still are not sure of its operation. The government including the Ministers can not tell us what VAT will be applied to. How will it benefit the Bahamians and those who have a right to be here and our country as a whole? Will it go towards education, social services, culture, sports, youth development, reducing our national debt, etc? The blatant reluctance of this government to introduce the Freedom Of Information Act is also most concerning! We are all aware that this government operates in the dark and for their personal benefit...just look at the Renwood Wells Letter of Intent debacle. We still do not know what the deal is. This PLP government, as a result of VAT, will go down in history as the government that caused more financial burden on the Bahamian people...where the poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer. I certainly do not think that Sir Lynden Pindling envisioned this for the people. My Lord!
