I am going to ask Facebook friends a question. I started a new job about 4-5 weeks ago and recently I was offered a promotion, which I took. Now I have a friend who started working there also back in August. Apparently, they feel some kinda way about me being promoted before them (especially because I just started working). They posted how they helped me get the job and how it is awkward being I got the position and they didnt. They claimed that they helped me get the job but it was a mutual friend of ours who tried to get me to work there over a year ago when the place opened up and in fact that same person called the store manager personally to recommend me (they knew the manager and their word pulls more weight). Plus, I have been in management in shape or form at majority of the jobs Ive held and was employed at those jobs for at least 3-4 years each, where my friend changes jobs frequently. I get feeling a little jaded about it, but at the end of the day I feel a friend would congratulate their friend for being promoted so fast. Not sure how to play this one.
