I am going to give up trolling on Facebook. It makes me too - TopicsExpress

I am going to give up trolling on Facebook. It makes me too judgmental; me of all people being judgmental is reason enough to quit Facebook. Id venture to say that Facebook is destroying our children, our friends, our marriages and the christian religion for a variety of reasons. However, Facebooks greatest advantage is its deception. It is one of the greatest tools ever invented by the enemy. Think about it; the very object we use to sound off our firmly held morals is the same object we use to judge, belittle, and dwell in envy. Sometimes we do the bad stuff where folks can see. Most of the time we just pull out the phone, scroll through the updates and judge, judge, judge. Facebook becomes addicting because its quiet and because it immediately makes us feel better. That is the deception; committing sin to feel better. The danger is not the post from a person obviously seeking confirmation or attention. The danger is from folks like me who do nothing but judge that person and others as we scroll through the day. When my moral compass is determined by how I judge someone on Facebook, the path I am on is going straight down. Never up. Ever. So, Im giving it up. I will hang around long enough to read the comments so my ego is either stroked or prodded. No, I have not lost my mind. No, my wife and I are not fighting about Facebook. No, my children are perfect and smart and very very quiet. Im just giving it up.
