I am going to make this as plain and as clear as I can. If you believe in God, if you profess with your lips that you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, than hear me now, YOU CANNOT HATE ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. Again, I think of the people that ask me, “Why do you think God allows all this bad stuff to happen to me. I am a good person, I believe in God. I have faith, so why does this happen t...o me?” Two minutes later, “I hate him, I hate her, I hate my boss, I hate my brother, sister, mother, father!” The mouths speak vile words, angry words, and murderous words. Maybe you are the type of person who has such a bad case of road rage that you hate other drivers on the road, perhaps you harbor hatred towards an ex. Listen, hate is prohibiting, not hindering but completely blocking, any relationship you THINK you are having with God. 1 John 4:20-21 “20 If a man says, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” Notice that the bible calls it a commandment, so hating is a sin. If you hate regularly, then you sin regularly. In the process of sanctification, you are supposed to grow out of that. 1 John 3:14-15 14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. If you have hate for a creation of God, then you also hate the creator. If you have hate in your heart, for your brother or sister, then you have no room in your heart for Christ Jesus. With great passion we are to hate sin, we are to hate evil, we are to hate the devil. But as for man, we are to love. It does not matter of whom we speak, and it does not matter the grievance they commit against you, you being of the God of love are to love the creator and ALL of his creations. You are no light of the Prince of peace if, from your hate filled heart, words of contention and strife abound onto the ears of the lost. Hate of your fellow man is a poison that only kills the owner, not the intended. Hate is the result of satan’s whispers that tell you that you are justified in hating because you have been so wronged. Were you wronged much more than Christ? Yet Christ being so wronged died for the transgressors, because he loved them. HE begged the Father to have mercy on his enemy. How then do you justify the curse you cast? This world needs correction, and to correct is to love. We all fall short of His glory, we will all miss the mark. But to grow wickedness in the heart is not correction, and to correct in love is not wicked. Your lips profess obedience to our God, but your actions speak of an allegiance to darkness. Be aware of the communication that comes from the heart, that is spoken with the eyes. Identify truth in the mirror, seek wisdom from the word. Praise God for His mercy, surround your heart and your mind with sober minds and pure hearts of the righteous. Seek your counsel from the light houses of our faith, for they will guide you safely back to the harbor. May the peace of our Lord be with you! Happy Veterans Day to all my comrades out there! Bro.
