I am going to post some maps that you will not see on any other weather site. Now that the cfs2v models extend out to early December I have finally gone into winter weather mode. I have had a nice break from things over the last month and a half but its time to get back into it. Below is the CFSv2 4 panel projected snow cover maps. I posted a series of maps starting around Thanksgiving through early December. This is an early indicator that we may see some much colder than normal temperatures around the middle of November lasting into early December. You will see come early December all Four Ensemble panels have snow cover projected for the Chicago area. I will be monitoring these forecast maps going forward and I will keep everyone updated for changes. The snow cover is not carved in stone, but it is starting to become apparent that much colder weather will arrive in Early to mid November. This also is not an indicator for what is in store for the entire winter either. As my maps only extend out to the early stages of the winter seasons. please enjoy the maps below. The first map is the Thanksgiving timeframe, the second is early December and the third is just an overview of North America. You can see snow cover projections is quite prevalent for a big portion of North America. For Sam Senti the top right map will probably be the one that pans out as it is the only map not showing snow for your area of Wisconsin come early December :).
