I am going to say this just once. I am sharing this post from a group because it appeared from another FB friend on my timeline. What you have here is pure subjectivity with no real basis in reality. This is pure projection. People can claim all sorts of supernatural experiences both inside and outside Christianity. I can tell you that I have seen 19 Spirits playing a game of Corredoball and this means that the Church is going to knock over the false doctrines like perbulas. Yes, I have seen it. Now did that make any sense to you? Of course it didnt. One of the major problems I have with so called mystical spirituality is that rather than being oriented to a reflection on the crucified Christ (which is where the medieval mystics focused their attention), modern day mysticism seems to think that any sort of extreme CGI-filled vision is worthy of being shared as though it was somehow either real or true. As I read these kinds of things I am reminded of just how far over the edge and into the abyss of Nonsense modern day charismatic mysticism has gone. Authentic or genuine Christian mysticism has nothing to do with visions of the heavenly realm. And if or when that happens those who have been there, like the Apostle Paul, know that the experience of those visions cannot be put into words (2 Cor 12). Todays charismatic mystics not only see all kinds of nonsense, they also seem to think that sharing that nonsense is going to make us all somehow feel the gospel and become more Christ like. This super-exalted mysticism has no room for the cross, no room for Gods failure, no room for the darkness of Good Friday. It has no via dolorosa, no dark night of the soul and leaves no room for heartache, pain and terror of Gethsemane. It can only reside in glory. It fails to comprehend that that it is the Lamb that was slain who sits on the throne. It fails because it is only focused on benefits. It is just another form of the Empire of Consumer Christianity. It is a mockery of the power of the Crucified, it belittles the poor, the depressed, the broken hearted. For this false spirituality God is just a panacea, a medication, a drug to take to make one feel better. It completely lacks the capacity to sit between Good Friday and Easter Sunday when all dreams are dashed, and all hope is gone. It can only seem to focus on feeling good or feeling better. Little wonder that Karl Marx called religion the opiate of the people. Imagine what he would say if he were acquainted with contemporary charismania. Up to this point I have said nothing about the complete and total lack of theological cohesiveness or biblical orientation of such nonsense as what you will read below. Anybody with a good hit of LSD or a good joint can probably conjure up the same kinds of experience. This has nothing to do with Jesus or the Spirit of Jesus. Read the entry. Note how it is laden with a fundamentalist holiness orientation AS THOUGH THAT WAS THE TRUTH! My friends, if it is mystical experience you seek, follow Jesus on the path from Gethsemane to the Cross. Experience the dregs of life. Allow your faith to be shredded and torn to pieces. Learn to trust God on this journey and when you do you will find the heart and soul of real authentic and genuine mysticism, one that is Jesus centered and oriented to the place where God has done Gods redeeming work, a place of execution. Real genuine mystics have trod this path. Only those who have walked this way have the right to be able to speak about the abiding presence of the Holy One.
