I am grateful to my adversaries for the many opportunities their mischief making, backbiting and straight out criminal acts have given me to grow and become a better person. As the expression goes, what doesnt kill us makes us stronger. I am grateful to my adversaries that they are willing to sacrifice their ever lasting soul so that I may be schooled in becoming a better person. While it is never palatable when somebody else points it out to us, we would all do well to remember that the adversity we face at the hands of others, is always a practical test to help us find our true destiny and become closer with Allahs will for us. All growth lies in adversity and certainly the level of our discontent, is the measure of our distance from Allah. INSYALLAH, every day is a day for learning. Still, some days I do pine for summer holdidays from all this learning and wonder how in matters of adversity, it oftrn feels as if I segued directly from Primary School to High School, straight on through undergraduate studies and the various levels of graduate study and on to post doctoral work without a break. But then I remember the palapable suffering of brothers and sisters around the world, inlcuding oh so many millions of people in Africa, Palestine, Syria, Kashmir, Iraq, Egypt, Myanmar and other places, and I slap myself. What evil have men wrought that so many innocents should suffer so needlessly? Undoubtedly there will be much gnashing of teeth.
