I am happy i saw my darling Super Eagles hold the azzuri of italy to a 2-2 draw at craven cottage,london despite ricardo montolivo,andrea pirlo and super mario balotelli all on the pitch. 2 things i would love Steven Kechi to do in the Super Eagles team. 1.Kechi has to be bold enough to drop Mikel Obi to the bench.arguably,Mikel is Nigerias second most decorated footballer after Kanu Nwankwo and he stands as the most experienced player in this current super eagles team.this is a guy that has played in the uefa champions league year in year out for the past 8yrs with so many medals to show for it,he plays for one of the best clubs in the world week in week out but he has so far grown to be a deadweight and the weakest link in the recent super eagles team.we can say theres nobody to replace him but remember herik cantona was dropped from the french team to france98 world cup despite the fact that he was the best french footballer at the time,even better than zenedine zidane.Roy keane was dropped by Mick mccarthy for Ireland when he was the best irish leg at the time for KoreaJapan 2002,bebeto n romario were also dropped from Brazils conquering team of 2002 world cup all for differnt reasons,to mention a few.We should not be afraid of the unknown,okocha has left with his talented plays but we have recovered from d vaccum he left in the super eagles,so will it be if Mikel is dropped,his passes are inaccurate,he;s too slow to launch a counter,he looses possesion indiscriminately and i sure know he woundn;t do all that in the Mourihno Chelsea.He should raise his game cos no man is indispensible.If he goes,we will discover his replacement.Nigeria is too big for one man to feel hes untouchable. 2.Kenneth Iheanacho should be invited into the Super eagles.he may be small,fragile n inexperienced but we should try n learn from the europeans for giving chance to teenagers to do their thing on the big stages.Lionel messi,c.ronaldo,theo walcott,aaron ramsey,jack wilshere,gareth bale,cesc fabregas,mesut ozil,mario goetze,marco reus,wayne rooney,tom cleverly,josh mceachran,rahim sterlin,daniel sturridge,andres iniesta,xavi hernandes and so on n so on,these are footballers that so many of us football fans idolise today but we should remember that somebody spotted their talent and gave them a golden opportunity for which made them stars today.Iheanacho probably may not be relevant now but let him start to have first team exposure now so that we can reap a bountiful harvest of his talent later.many were given the opportunity but faulted,it is either way but we have to take our chances on our young talents.
