I am happy to tell you all that Mudge has found her new forever home:) whilst here with my family there were a few issues that we thought we could work through such as the plucking. Mudge is a very soppy tame bird that has suffered many years of being locked in a budgie cage within a store cupboard of an indian restaurant so came to me a little scared of being on her own. the idea was once she had built up her leg strength and also her confidence around other birds she would join my flock in the bird room. It soon became apparent that she was no too keep on the other big birds and preferred her space. we worked well with her until one day I went to work and came back to find that she had pulled BLOOD feathers out!! and it was not a little blood it was like a blood bath :( we went to the vets to see if there was anything that could be done to help her and she was given some great food supplements as this was becoming more regular but this did not work either. I spoke with Hollie about the possibility of her moving to a home where someone is in all day... My little girl went to live with Karen last week and i am so happy to report that she is settled and very happy!!! i loved this bird to bits but sometimes you can do everything in your power to make a bird happy but they may still not suit your home and family. This little girl just did not want to be alone!!
