I am heading to bed at 7 pm and loving it. I rode a bull at work today...on live TV! (Well, I really just sat on it.) But no one will really understand how fulfilling it is to work with pros Julie and Jim each morning at WQAD-TV. And no one sees how excited I am to get up be for 2 am each morning...because everyone is asleep. But seriously! What a difference since exactly a year ago when the Titanic hit the iceberg in Rockford. It was hard to see any positive in the extreme events that occurred in the front office of that station last year, but there have been wonderful outcomes. My former anchor team, numerous reporters, sales staff, and weather team are all in places where they are encouraged to use their talents to excel. Here at WQAD News 8, I am so lucky to have the resources to make compelling, interesting weather forecasts, work alongside the most experienced and fun anchor team of my career, and have creative and supportive managers who always have my back. Last year life really sucked. It was bad for us worker-bees at the Bakers Dozen, but also unsettling for the audience who came to the table each morning and night. But if we didnt have the bad part last year, we wouldnt know what real happiness looks and feels like today. If youre in Rockford, I hope youve enjoyed spinning the dial around a bit. If youre in the Quad Cities, thanks for the warm welcome and I hope you are up early for more fun on Good Morning Quad Cities tomorrow! Most importantly, thank you for your support and encouragement in this trip around the sun. And for letting me be a small part of your life each day. Its an unbelievable honor for me. #forward
