Thank you, Sheldon Patinkin, for your kindness, your guidance, your generosity, your insight, your severity (when warranted), your enthusiasm, your tolerance, but most of all, for your love. For many generations to come, entertainment will be better because of you. People will laugh or be enlightened without ever knowing the debt of gratitude they owe you. They wont know how tirelessly you gave yourself to your students and to the work or to what degree that lifetime of giving has influenced everything in comedy and drama that is. But I do know. Many of us know. And we will apply your lessons every day of this life and any that may follow and hope that it repays your gifts to us in kind.
