I am hoping to touch many people in realising that whatever they have experienced they are not alone. And secondly to create awareness of how sensitive we ought to be around other peoples feelings and experiences. Do not shut up ANY voice - every human being is entitled to a voice and to share their experiences if it has value to bring comfort. To those who are considering to connect a persons name to my poem or to take it personally please do not do so - any writer, poet will write from their hearts and not with a particular person in mind..... My most talented friend gave this positive feedback to me today and it has humbled me so. Thank you God for providing to me the courage to be a voice for those who are not heard. And this is one of the most brilliant poems I have ever read – the world should read this. The reason why I say that this is a brilliant poem, is because it touches the entire spectrum of abuse, and not only abused people, but also those people who have to sacrifice who and what they are, in order to exist. There are so many levels on which existence, and being true to one-self is being denied – I do not think that one even had to suffer abuse to appreciate this writing. This poem will resonate with anybody who has seen or felt the difficult side of life . What a potent, potent ending. There must be millions of women who will find solace in reading the words ‘I seldom dream my dreams’ and to know that , as your poem states, they are not alone. I am very proud to be able to say that I know the poet who wrote this poem!
