I am hoping your mom is coping today - Deborah Raimondo and Dana Havens. I am praying for you all. I was thinking of a cute story of your dad - there are so many that I can recall, but this one is from so long ago..... We were all at your house for Christmas, as we always were, and I was having a theological argument with Uncle Joel!!! Your dad hated conflict type situations, and I guess we had been discussing too long/much... (My youth, ignorance and passion all rolled into one big mouth!) and all of a sudden your dad appears next to me with this beautifully cut up pear in a dish. And I was surprised, because I hadnt asked he or your mom for anything, and so I said to him Oh honey what is this for? and he looked at me and started laughing, and then I knew what it was meant for - that pear meant shut up and eat the pear.... but your dad would never say anything like that, he was too gentle and kind - yet he got his message across with that loving act of getting me a pear to eat!!! hahaha! That epitomizes how your dad lived - that one little example shows how he got things done!! How I loved him!! He taught me so much! He taught me that you are never too old to learn or explore, he taught me to have a zest and passion!! So many of his ventures of art and poetry and music came way after he retired. HE explored his passions fully!! (And of course I will always remember the skating and cross country skiing and so many countless other fun things.) But he left his mark on my life in so many ways. Heaven is rejoicing at his arrival!! I love you and am thinking of you all - please give my love to your mom.
