I am impressed by so many of my former students. Today, I was particularly impressed by Elizabeth Hanson-Keefner a member of my first graduating class at Chatham High School. Her brother James Hanson was a lineman who was fatally injured in the line of duty. As long as we need electricity in NY, we will need linemen. Yet, this is an extremely dangerous occupation. Elizabeth and her family are helping to spread awareness and ensure the safety of those who work in this necessary occupation. Im so glad I got to spend time at the James B. Hanson Softball Tournament and catch up with former students and learn more about lineman safety. The tournament benefits a scholarship to be awarded to a young person who would like to pursue an education in the utility lineman industry. Thank you Elizabeth, I am so proud of you!
