I am in Portland Oregon today for a parent and coach education - TopicsExpress

I am in Portland Oregon today for a parent and coach education session with the Washington Timbers FC, but first I am educating myself. I am headed to Providence park to watch Pep Guardiola train Bayern Munich, and then watch Caleb Porter train the MLS All Stars. Watching a man considered the worlds best coach, followed by one of the top coaches in the US, is a pretty good way to spend a day and further my own education. So here is a question, what are you doing to further your coaching and parent education, so you can best serve your athletes? The best leaders are lifelong learners, and you should be very worried if your child is coached by someone who knows it all. If you are a coach who thinks I do not need any more education, I have been at this a long time then think again. If you are standing still, your peers in the coaching world will soon be passing you by. Look at yesterdays post about the five words that describe the best coach you ever had. There are over 60 comments. Read thought them and then post below the one common characteristic among the majority of posts. Here is a hint: it has little to do with knowledge of technique, tactics, etc.
