I am incensed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (great e-,mail) I am incensed, angry, frustrated, embarrassed and pissed at .... us, me, you, them, for being so naïve, stupid, complacent and irresponsible to have not only elected the present crowd in the WH, but also for being supportive of a media process that defends the continuing deceit, arrogance, incompetence and un-accountability. After watching the latest (color me stupid for wasting my time) WH press fandango I cannot believe what has happened to America. What I heard was that the President is waiting for the Pentagon to develop a strategy to deal with the sudden problem of ISIS, ISIL, IS et al in the middle east. I spent 7 years in the Pentagon, much of it involved with planning - which is a never ending process in the military-intelligence complex. Thousands of people in Washington and across the nation are always planning about how to handle this or that possible world crisis. There is a plan for almost every imaginable contingency. That the President is saying he doesnt have a strategy for dealing with ISIS is like the airplane captain saying he cant take off because the flight attendants havent told him the destination. It is the President and his National Security Council who must first issue the goals and the constraints for any reaction to world threats. These are what form the strategy and later the tactics for accomplishing the mission. The goals are clearly shaped by the Presidents perception of the threat (if he has one and has read his daily intelligence summaries), the State Depts and the Intelligence Communitys assessments of the situation -- all working in coordination with the NSC (remember Susan Rice of Benghazi fame? She is the National Security Adviser to the President). We are one sliding, stupid and nearly helpless nation. The strategy Obama is waiting for, is the one he is responsible for framing.
