I am jumping on my soap box for a moment, so please excuse my rant! The thing that I hate more than anything in this world is liars. I seriously can’t stand people that lack the confidence to tell the truth, because in fact that is what lying is all about, a lack of self-worth where you feel that you need to say what you think people want to hear rather than saying the truth. At the beginning of the Summer we were given a calendar of important dates for the High School Softball camp, we confirmed the dates on more than one occasion and even planned our family vacation so that Hannah could attend. ONE WEEK before the camp we received an email stating that the camp was changed to a different week which unfortunately was the week where we were scheduled to be in Florida. My husband called the coach of the team and explained the situation to him and was assured that Hannah’s absence would not affect her place on the Varsity Team…. Therefor we went on vacation as planned…… Today as they were handing out the jerseys, Hannah was not given a Varsity jersey. Instead she was given a JV one…. She is the only junior that was held down. Everyone else, who attended the camp, was placed on the Varsity team. I am beyond upset. Why couldn’t the coach just be honest and say “YES, she needs to attend the camp” “Yes, it will be hard to justify putting her on the Varsity team if she doesn’t show”….. I mean the possibilities are endless as to what he could have said. So now I have an amazing ball player that hit a three run homer at her last game who is on a team with some that have never even picked up a bat!!!!!!!!!! Ticked…. TICKED!!!!!!!! While I know that in ten years from now it won’t matter, I also know that I have an awesome young lady who deserves to be somewhere but instead is heartbroken. I am jumping off my soap box now but don’t be fooled, this Mother Hen is not pleased, not one bit!!!!!!!!
