I am just a-musin this evening. Ive been reading about a couple of upwardly mobile fundamentalist churches around here that are going to build a bit o heaven along I-49 in Fayetteville. Now that wont affect me none, its neither here nor there as far as I am concerned. More power to em. I know people who talk all week about some extravaganza or tother theyve been to at one of those places. I grew up in a little church that had about 35 people in it...set a record one Easter Sunday with 68 folks. We thought that was quite a crowd and talked about it for years. We had the best music, in my estimation, with Herman Buerky playing a fiddle, I was either on a guitar or the piano, my sister (Joyce Jeffries) on the old Hammond organ, my brother (John Eldon Huffman) on drums, Glen Buerky on the bass, and once in a while someone else sitting in. It was sort of a Sunday morning southern Gospel jam session with some preachin and an offering. Thats still what I like. Thats still basically what Sunday morning still is for me. I think harps and such are nice and fine for those with that sort of temperament, but my kind of harp music comes from six strings and is variously called a gittar or a git-fiddle or some such. Heres my idea of a harp that I want to hear calling me to spiritual places... -- jim huffman https://youtube/watch?v=0cHeNscKZN0&feature=em-subs_digest-vrecs
