I am just ecstatic that this insurance claim is going to be paid and our roof, flashing, internal drywall, painting, siding outside, fascia, labor, etc. before the snow flies. I guess it pays to play the Nice Michael role with the district manager for claims. It also didnt help to have this statement, which I used, in my arsenal, Well, Mr. Insurance Claims Manger Man, tell you what. Why dont you just pay for a roofing engineer to come out to the house, which would technically be yours to pay for as well? That way we can find out the exact leak. His response, after getting up on the roof and some time after my comment was, Mr. Lewis. I am going to turn this in and pay this claim. The only way I can figure out what the exact issue is with the roof and leaking would be to have a roofing engineer to come out and that would be about as much as the claim. I will just send you the difference between what your deductible would be and what the estimate came in showing. How does that sound? I was speechless. I shook his hand and said, Thanks for making this right. Point Sugar Bear!
