I am learning over time to adjust my thinking about what has real value in life. It’s not the success of a job, or wealth that we have accumulated; but, instead, the wisdom and common sense that is ours when we spend quality time with our HEAVENLY FATHER by studying HIS word and “LISTENING” to HIS answers when we pray. I now realize that [like most men] I have spent most of my life giving value to temporal things that [at best] give only momentary gratification. As I look back over my life, I can now clearly see that the times when I was more open to “RECEIVING” communication from THE LORD have had more lasting value [in terms of the wisdom and common sense that I needed] than the things I had been concentrating on accumulating. When I slow down and take the necessary time to LISTEN to what GOD is saying in response to my prayers, I am able to receive the peace, hope, and joy that is only available when I really LISTEN to what HE will continually reveal to us when we truly listen as HE gives us the direction we need to live successfully for HIM in this confusing world. ”GOD blesses those who have wisdom and common sense with happiness. For wisdom is worth more than silver; and common sense makes you much richer than gold.” – [Proverbs 3:13-14] Today as I pray for myself, my family and friends, strangers, and leaders [in churches, workplaces, government, and society]; I am asking THE HOLY SPIRIT to help me to really listen to what GOD is showing me in HIS Word in response to my prayers.
